Winter trailer brake system maintenance tips that most people don't know
Jan 01,1970
When winter comes, many customers feedback that their trailers are slow due to the weather and the brakes are slow, and the relay valves are frozen, causing the brakes to lock up, and the safety hazards are great. Today, MPMC has compiled some solutions to the winter brake system inspection and maintenance, hoping to bring some help to the friends who drive in winter.
First, Check each gas line joint (including the connection between the main vehicle and the trailer)
With the arrival of winter, the lower the temperature drop, the tighter the seal or the mat. After the summer wind and rain, the seal of the rubber ring is getting worse and worse, especially the pipe joint above the axle. The low temperature in winter will lead to sealing. The pipe joint shrinks, and the sealing performance is poorly leaked. Therefore, we must check the seals of the gas lines before pumping out in the morning. (It is best to shake one hand and touch it) If the air leaks, tighten it tightly or reinstall it.

Second, check the main car drying tank
Check the main car dryer tank to ensure that the main vehicle air supply is dry and moisture free. Since the drying tank is an air filter, the filtration effect on the residual moisture of the compressed air is lost as the usage time is long. The compressed air does not reach the purpose of drying, causing water in the pipeline and the valve body to freeze, thus affecting the normal use of the brake.

Third, the main car and trailer regularly put water
In the winter, most of the temperature is below zero. At this time, the compressed gas is easy to produce water drops or humid gas. The main car and the trailer gas storage tank regularly discharge water. In winter, the water is discharged regularly in the winter, which is shorter than the summer interval. Water is accumulated to ensure the dry gas used by the brakes. If the water is not released in time, the moisture pressure inside the air reservoir enters the valve body. When the temperature is lower than zero, the inside of the valve body freezes. As a result, the piston in the valve body is stuck and the brakes eventually fail.

Fourth, ABS system maintenance
The ABS is connected to a number of sensor connectors that act to sense the signal to the brake system, allowing the ABS to give a certain command at the vehicle's specific speed to achieve the best braking force and frequency. Therefore, whether the sensor joints are loose or not, to ensure that the fixing needs to be inspected and maintained. At the same time, the ABS ring gear in the brake drum should be removed and cleaned regularly to ensure that the ring gear and the probe sensor signal are good, and the joint has no putty.
